Petplan also doesn’t cover the cost of medical expenses that are incurred due to pre-existing conditions of a pet. Conditions which were prevalent in the pet before the insurance policy started come under this category.
However, the limitation concerning a pre-existing condition will be waived off for an illness that does not show any symptoms for 12 months.
Petplan’s pet insurance offers two different coverage limits. One comes at a price of $5,000, and the other comes at a price of $15,000. In addition to these two options, policyholders have the option of choosing a third, more expensive coverage plan with unlimited benefits.
The claiming policies laid down by Petplan have to be strictly followed to avail of its benefits. Policyholders must keep the following in mind:
Pet owners have to wait for a maximum of 15 days for the policy to come into effect. In certain cases of pet accidents, the policy may come into effect in a span of 2 to 3 days. To treat a knee condition, a waiting period of 6 months is applicable after enrolling.
When you go through this Petplan Pet Insurance review, you’ll realize how Petplan’s policies have been tailor-made to suit your needs. It prioritizes pet care above anything else.

Can you cancel Petplan at any time? Yes, you can. If you have not submitted any claims, and cancel the policy within the first 30 days, you will enjoy a full refund.
At the end of the 30 period, the total paid premium minus the reimbursement rate, or a prorated amount will be refunded.
